Greetings Brady-Higgins family members,
Several months have passed since the 2009 family reunion in Las Vegas. Over the past several months action items taken from the family business meeting have been completed including;
• The http://www.brady-higginsfamily.com website has been updated with pictures from the last reunion.
• Minutes from the August 2009 Brady-Higgins Family business meeting are posted on the website and are attached.
• The Brady-Higgins Family, Inc. has registered with the Chambers County Probate Office with the following Board members; Mary Lett (AL), George Smitherman (AL), Monica Ferguson (FL), and Andre Kellum (IL). This is necessary step to obtain 501c-3 status. George is a safeguard for an Alabama resident and direct descendent of Emily.
• Cassandra Thomas (daughter of Willie Dell Brady-Thomas) is researching web archival requirements to publish a comprehensive family tree for the family. She is requesting volunteers to represent each branch of the family to participate in this project.
• The email list on the family website has been updated and all inactive email addresses have been removed.
• The snail mail address list and routing has been updated and corrected to remove incorrect contact information for our family members.
Since next the 2011 family reunion will be here before we know it, there are several actions that are needed to ensure the legacy of Emily “Murr” Higgins continues.
1) If you have not registered on the website, or your email has changed, please go in and re-register so you will receive family communications. Please encourage your immediate family members to register also. Step by step instructions and screen prints are attached demonstrating how to register.
2) Please forward this communication to any family contacts that have not received a letter. Encourage them to register on the website, or by contacting Mary Lett, 2722 16th S.W., Lanett, Alabama, 36863. Her phone number is 334-576-2046. It is essential that we have everyone’s current contact information to plan for next year’s family reunion.
3) We need each family unit to designate a family member responsible for facilitating contact with Cassandra Thomas for the electronic archival of the family tree. For the descendants of Isaac Brady’s son, William “Bill” Brady, Cassandra is the contact. We still need volunteers from the other descendents of Isaac, as well as each family line from Tommy, Rebecca, John, Charlie, and Emory. Cassandra’s email address is chcothomas@yahoo.com. Her contact information is also published on the family website.
